Beauty Review: L'Oreal Pure Clay Purity Mask.

In all honesty I'm not a huge face mask kinda gal. I don't really like the way they feel on my face and because I have sensitive skin, I always worry that they'll break me out. However when I saw the new trio of L'Oreal face masks to hit the shelves, retailing at only £5 each, I knew I just had to give one a go. They're each tailored separately to different skin types: one of oily, one for normal and one for dry. Naturally, I bought the oily one, which is a wonderfully pretty shade of pale turquoise and smells equally divine.

"For the first time, the L'Oréal Paris laboratories have selected three pure clays and combined them with eucalyptus extract, known for its purifying properties. The creamy texture works deep into the pores, leaving skin purified and matte-looking, without drying it out."

In general I really liked this mask and don't regret buying it at all. Like I said above, it has a lovely fresh scent to it, which makes it really enjoyable to apply. The actual consistency is thick and creamy, not dissimilar to most face masks, and whilst it looks green it actually dries almost transparent. (It makes your skin look really matte, I was so excited!) On this note, I will say that as it dried it made my skin feel really tight, like I was struggling to actually move my face at all, which did worry me slightly as I was unsure of how easy it would be to take off again.

To use this face mask, you apply a thin layer all over the face and wait until it dries before removing with warm water. Thankfully it actually came off super easily and didn't leave any nasty residue at all!

I definitely noticed after washing it off, that my skin felt softer and more even in tone, however has it helped my oil production? Well, no. I'm still looking for my miracle product! But I am definitely going to continue to use this product and if there's any major change in my skin, of course I'll let you know!

  1. Ah this sounds interesting, I have tried some facemasks and they literally dry so tight it hurts when you frown slightly hahaha, not the most pleasant feeling but if they leave your skin soft then its fine! - shame it doesn't help oily skin much, maybe other products in conjuction may help - this really does look like a product that smells so fresh when on! - I will keep my eye out for this one! xxx

  2. I love face masks, as my skin is combination, they always seem to work for me in one way of another. The packaging looks almost expensive, but knowing it was a L'Oreal mask, it wasn't. I might give this a go, or at least another one from L'Oreal! xx
