Beauty Review: Maybelline Color Tattoo.

This week I started contemplating the theme of Valentine's Day and how I could incorporate it into my blog. Now I'm single (and perfectly happy y'all) so I won't actually be going out on the big day but I'm a sucker for a good holiday and what that can mean for my blog posts. So I decided in light of the upcoming event, I would review one of the main products I'm going to be using so if you're inspired you can invest before my tutorial comes out! I'm just too good to you guys! ;)

The Product: Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Gold & Pink Gold

The Price£4.99

Quick Picks:

The packaging: 4.5 stars
The product: 4 stars

Value for money: 5 stars

The actual product is a creme eyeshadow that boasts up to 24 hours of wearability. Naturally the colours of these are gorgeous and similar to most creme eyeshadows, the pigmentation is amazing. I usually like to wear these over a champagne base colour but they can equally be worn by themselves of together as a lovely iridescent combo. They add a fabulous hint of sparkle to your eyes without being overpowering and can easily be matted down a little if you don't want the sheen.

The only negative thing I would say about they is due to the thick texture they tend to be very difficult to blend together. I apply using my fingers which obviously isn't the most accurate of methods but it does ensure high pigmentation. Of course you can then use a blending brush but it seems to me as once they're on your eyes, they don't really want to budge!

In terms of the packaging I think its lovely. For me it's reminiscent of the Chanel creme eyeshadow pots with the similar glass container. They store easily and are great for taking away on vacation as they can be dressed up or down. All in all I'm very pleased with these (especially for the price) and can't wait to share my Valentine's day makeup tutorial with you!

  3. I love these! They look so beautiful and pigmented, but I agree the consistency is quite thick. I tend to apply mine with my finger and then blend out with a brush which seems to work quite well. Fab review!
