Why You Should Never Give Up On Your Dreams.

"You are a human with one life and it is up to you to make it the best life you can."

After leaving school back in June 2015 to take a gap year before heading to university there has been one thing that has really resonated with me: the fact that *you* are responsible for making the best out of your life and how you live it. No one will hold your hand and tell you the path to success. No one will show you the way to achieving your dreams and if you want them badly enough, you have to push yourself to brave the difficulties it will take to make them a reality.

And do you know what? It's exhausting. I'm constantly plagued with guilt, whenever I'm sat idle watching YouTube or scrolling through Tumblr (if you don't have Tumblr, don't get it, it ruins lives) I spend most of my time unable to relax as my mind whirs over the fact that surely there's something blog related I could be doing right now. Be it Twitter, Instagram, starting a Snapchat (Do I... Don't I?! Help!) or just photographing a new post, the need to be productive blog-wise makes it near on impossible to do other things. I think part of it is a genuine love of blogging, lilyolivia.co.uk means so much to me for so many different reasons, and the other part is probably likely due to the fact that in the week time I have little or no time to blog anything, so when I have my rare days off, I have to schedule and pre blog and think up ideas for the next five days.

It's also tiring having to constantly explain to people why I spend all of my spare time hugging my laptop or taking photos of lipstick - because try as they might, my parents really don't get it. They don't understand just how much satisfaction and happiness can be found from writing and uploading and subsequently reading the lovely comments I get. Seriously, you have no idea how much it means to me when I see new comments on my posts! Like, after all the hard work I put into it, someone cares enough to leave their thoughts!

But why do I do it? Well, because I love it of course. This post is about never giving up on your dreams because I know sometimes it can seem all too easy to just have a lazy day and do nothing, even though the sun is shining and you're deep in emails. So whatever it is that you dream of, whether like me it's to find success at blogging, or secure that dream job or that holiday to LA, never, ever give up, because if you put your mind to something, there is no reason why you can't achieve it.

And if you need some final inspiration, look at your idols, look at famous YouTubers, look at artists, at singers and sports stars, at actors. They all started at the bottom, where we are, and if they hadn't worked their absolute hardest, never giving up even when it seemed like failure was imminent, they wouldn't be where they are today.

To reference my quote from the start of the post: we do only have one life, and it is up to you to turn it into a life that, when it eventually ends, you can be wholeheartedly proud of. I believe in you. You can do it.

    1. Thank you! I wish I could link them for you but unfortunately I got them from a random boutique in Italy that I can't remember the name of! My sister does YouTube - albeit intermittently - so she kind of gets it, but even so! xx

  2. I'm exactly the same, the second I have a spare hour on a weekend I'm like 'ok right what can I do for my blog' its like you don't switch off! - like sometimes I can feel I'm doing crap on the blogging fromt compared to others but the you just have to think, where were you a year ago?? That type of thing puts me to rest, I do worry about my blog and life in generally but life is so much clearer if you just relax and enjoy everyday! As cheesy as it sounds I find it to be so true! xxx
