Huge High End Beauty Haul: Chanel, MAC and YSL.

If you know my blog at all, you'll know that high end makeup is my weakness and I've certainly excelled myself with this lot! So what do you get if you cross payday and £114 on my Boots Card?! A massive splurge on high end makeup, that's what! I've got to say even sitting here right now, I'm still riding on a slight high from the excitement of all of these new, beautifully packaged products.

I'm going to talk through each of these items, why I bought them and my initial thoughts and feelings. In the next couple of weeks I'll probably end up doing some in depth reviews of most of these as I'm super excited to try them all and share it on here.

Okay, I think we should get on with the haul as otherwise we'll literally be here all day!

MAC

Matte Lipstick in Mehr - £15.50

I've been wanting to invest in a good pinkish nude for a while now, however I was pretty set on coming home today with Velvet Teddy. Yep, I still don't own it. I don't know either, the beauty blogger within me is crying right now. However whilst I was at the MAC stand, I naturally couldn't help but test out some products and this lipstick just really stood out to me. It's a beautiful warm pink nude, and of course being matte, I bet the colour pay off will be fabulous. I'm probably going to take it for it's test run at work tomorrow so I might include a quick footnote chatting about how long it lasts etc. I think this is gorgeous if, like me, you've got darker features and really can't pull off the super light nudes that seem to be all the range right now. Plus, the hint of colour is perfect for spring and summer!

MAC

Lipliner in Soar - £12.50

I'm totally going to justify this purchase with the fact that it matched my new lippie perfectly and since I don't wear nude lips all that often I just had to add it to my collection. I think Soar is one of those shades that loads of people seem to own / love so hopefully I will be too! Like all MAC lipliners it's a wonderful balance of being creamy in texture yet still hard enough to stop any smudging. If you'd like to see a Lip Look post using both of my new MAC products then just let me know, and I'll get on that!

MAC

Prep + Prime Primer - £29.50 (full size)

When the girl at MAC asks you if you want a free sample, of course you say yes. It's not even a question, and today my freebie was this little tube of Prep + Prime. Now I haven't used this before and I have a feelings it's one of those 'marmite' products - i.e. you either love it or hate it. I actually tweeted the other day about wanting to try some new primers so this will definitely be making it's way into my makeup routine! If you've tried Prep + Prime, please let me know your thoughts, especially if you suffer from oily skin like I do!

Chanel

Le Volume De Chanel Mascara in Noir - £25.00

If you saw my Lancome mascara review you'll probably be aware that I was completely out of my holy grail mascara - the Chanel Volume De Chanel. And as much as I liked the Lancôme, it's nothing compared to this mascara. Seriously, I would give it 10/10 or 5* which for me is rare, because I'm super picky about mascara. This is also my third tube of this stuff and since I used to switch up my mascara on the daily, this is truly saying something. I would highly recommend this to anyone, even though the brush does take a little getting used to (it hardly has any bristles it's really weird at first!) but once you've got a good mascara action, it's amazing!

Chanel

Les 4 Ombres: 208 Tissé Gabrielle - £40.00

This was by far my biggest splurge of the day, but I've been wanting to get my hands on a Chanel quad for a little while now. I tested pretty much all of the different shade combos but ended up settling on this one as the colours are cooler shades of purple / grey that I think will blend really well with the colour of my irises. I've tried Chanel eyeshadows before, but never a full quad so I'm really excited to try an entire eye look using this palette. In terms of texture, they've got a wonderfully buttery pigmentation that doesn't appear to 'run' too much under the eyelid, like some of my Smashbox eyeshadows.

If you're looking to invest in a great travel sized palette I would highly recommend going high end. The quality is just so much better and you can definitely create different looks from just four colours. As with most makeup I'd probably suggest going into store as the colours never look their best (or realest) online.

Yves Saint Laurent

Rouge Volumpté Shine Lipstick in 43 - £26.00

And lastly I'm bringing the most beautiful lipstick ever. I think it's pretty clear to anyone looking at these pictures that YSL just have their packaging down to a T. I mean Chanel is classy as hell and MAC is simple and sophisticated, but there is something so darn perfect about YSL.

I chose this colour in particular because it's such a pretty pink colour for summer and the texture is so wonderfully moisturising and glamourous. Another thing I'd say about these lippies is the smell - it's divine. Something in between sugary sweet and perfectly ripe summer fruits which for this time of year is exactly what I want to be tasting on my lips!

I absolutely cannot wait to try this out and of course I'll do a full review of it was I've used it a few times. But right now, I'm basically in love with it so hopefully the formula will live up to my high expectations!

Okay so that was my slightly crazy high end beauty haul! Please let me know your favourite thing I bought and if you've ever used any of these products yourself!
