So if you follow me on twitter you might have (probably have) seen my various tweets over the past few weeks about investing in some designer sunglasses. It's been something I've really wanted to do for over a year now but for some reason I just never bit the bullet and did it. However on Thursday my family made a cute day out to go to Selfridges and I finally bit the bullet. Right now, I couldn't be happier! They're perfect and to be honest I was actually planning to spend more on them but when I saw these I knew I just had to have them. If you're interested in these sunglasses they were £189 from Selfridges but sadly not available on the website. With sunglasses (especially expensive ones) I'd aways suggest trying them on, because naturally not everything will suit your face shape.
We probably spend about half an hour trying on sunglasses - everything from Chanel to Tom Ford to Gucci, but in the end it was these beautiful Burberry ones that caught my attention. I'd obsessively stalked the Selfridges website and narrowed it down to two favourites: a Dior and a Gucci pair. But unfortunately they didn't have the Dior ones I was after and even though the Gucci ones were gorgeous, they didn't come close to the Burberry's.
In all honesty I found the most stunning pair of Tom Ford's that would have been a contender if they weren't £850... I mean seriously?!
The two main things I love about these is A) the colour: I didn't really want black as it can be a little too harsh looking on my face, and B) the shape. I really don't suit Ray Ban aviators or the like, I'm not sure what it is they just look really bad on me! But these have a lovely oversized look without being too OTT. They're a classic design that will go with everything and I'm super excited to go on vacation in the summertime so I can wear them everyday!
