Trips and Travels in Summer 2017.

Last year around this time of year I made a post discussing 5 things I was excited for in summer 2016. It actually turned out to be super popular so I thought I would recreate it this year with an updated and improved version! And as I'm coming to the end of my first year at university - seriously, how quick has that gone - I thought now would be the perfect time to post. I think sometimes we can all get a bit bogged down in the present and whilst there is nothing wrong with living in the moment, when the moment is a 9 to 5, it's not exactly enthralling. So today I'm going to be looking forward to three things I have planned this summer post uni exams!

1 - Summer Travels

I'm lucky enough to be travelling twice over the summer period, firstly to Zante, Greece and secondly to Cornwall, UK. I've said before how much I love travelling and finding new and beautiful places in the world, plus it also happens to be one of my absolute favourite things to blog about. Switching up imagery and content is always fun and the stunning scenery of Greece is always a winner from behind the camera.

If you were here last summer you might remember I took a trip to Halkidiki, one of the northern provinces of Greece and still to this day they're some of my most popular posts. And I'm not surprised because azure skies and turquoise seas? Sign me up! We're actually staying in a villa or the quieter side of Zante - no wild parties for me - so I won't be doing a hotel review but I'm still super excited to be able to relax in my own home and not have to worry about fighting for a prime place by the pool. Let me know if there's anything in particular you want me to blog about, from food recommendations to travel beauty recommendations!

And secondly Cornwall. My family often goes, usually once a year and whilst it's a solid six hour car journey it's 100% worth it. Theres something inherently relaxing about the smell and sound of the sea especially when your home county is about as far as it's possible to get in England. I'm just so excited to go on coastal walks, eat good food and spend some well deserved time with my family.

2 - Day Trips in the UK

I don't officially leave university until June 12th and since my exams finished on May 15th I've got ample time to spend exploring the local area. So me and Ruth have planned day trips to Henley-on-Thames, Oxford and London. The UK has so much beauty and intrigue to offer so it's only right to give it time of day and not constantly strive to head overseas.

In Oxford, we plan on visiting the botanical gardens and lunching at Gee's Restaurant, which is somewhere I've actually been before and can recommend both the food and the location. If you're looking for somewhere mid priced, with a lovely array of fresh food, situated in a large glasshouse then I would highly recommend. I'll definitely be doing a blog post on our day in Oxford so keep your eyes peeled over the next couple of weeks!

Similarly, Henley is a super pretty town, that is currently preparing for the yearly regatta that takes place. Think: bunting, ice cream, cute houses... all situated on the banks of the river thames. Just thinking about the photos makes me cry!

And London. I adore London. It's one of those places I've been countless times and can confirm I'm not yet tired of. There are two directions this plan could take, or in an ideal world we'll do both. Firstly, the most likely: Camden. With the weather as delightful as it's been recently, meandering around Camden, snapping pics and eating all the halloumi fries seemed like a perfect idea. However in an ideal world me and Ruth would be heading off to see The Cursed Child for the second time. It was honestly the best play I've ever seen and I strongly urge you to try and get tickets. I've seen the original cast and am hoping to see the new one ASAP because even though they've only done one performance so far, I've only heard incredible things. So look out London, cause I'll be back soon enough!

Let me know in the comments if you're going on holiday, whether it's abroad or in your home country and if you've been to any of the places I'm heading to!
