When autumn rolls around, bringing it's usual stream of grey weather, I fall back in love with reading again. And for the month of September, there are so many great books either coming out or itching to be read.
So for this post, I want to share with you guys my To Be Reads for September and hopefully you'll find something that you would like to read too. I'm a firm believer that everybody can enjoy reading and those who claim they dislike it, haven't found the right book yet.
So sit back and let me take you through my TBRs...
Cinder
At the moment I've just started a dystopian sci-fi fantasy book called Cinder. Its a futuristic retelling of Cinderella and the first in a quartet. Each novel tells the story of a different fairytale character, but from a very action packed sci-fi world. So far this book is fantastic and I hope to read the rest of the series soon. I'd recommend this for anyone who likes space / futuristic books like The Hunger Games.
This is the synopsis from the back of the book:
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.
The 5th Wave
I originally read The 5th Wave very quickly after it came out back in 2013. However since then there has been a sequel (The Infinite Sea) and an upcoming movie. I remember really loving this book but for some reason never got on to reading the sequel. The movie will be released in January and stars Chloe Grace Moretz. I'd recommend this for anyone with a facsination for aliens. Lovers of the Lux Series or Across the Universe would probably enjoy.
I'll leave the synopsis below:
THE 1st WAVE
Took out half a million people.
THE 2nd WAVE
Put that number to shame.
THE 3rd WAVE
Lasted a little longer. Twelve weeks . . . Four billion dead.
IN THE 4th WAVE,
You can't trust that people are still people.
AND THE 5th WAVE?
No one knows.
But it's coming.
On a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs.
Runs from the beings that only look human, who have scattered Earth's last survivors.
To stay alone is to stay alive, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan may be her only hope.
Now Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.
Queen of Shadows
I am so excited for this book! It came out September 1st and because I've been in Barcelona I haven't really had a chance to read! If you haven't heard of this book it's the fourth book in a fantastic series by Sarah J Maas. I read the first three in about a week (and they're not small books!) when I was in Barbados so I'm super excited about this one. The main character is a kick-ass assassin, there's romance, drama, action... it's great!
Before I do a review of this I'll probably review the first three so you guys will know how I think it compares.
I'll leave the synopsis below, but beware for spoilers if you haven't read the first three!!
Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. Now she returns to the empire - to confront the shadows of her past ... The fourth breathtaking instalment in the New York Timesbestselling Throne of Glass series.
Bloodthirsty for revenge on the two men responsible for destroying her life, and desperate to find out if the prince and his captain are safe, Celaena returns to Rifthold, the seat of so much evil. She has accepted her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, there are dark truths to learn and debts to be paid. Aelin must stay hidden beneath her assassin's hood and draw on her mortal strength as Celaena to prevent the King of Adarlan from tearing her world apart. Only then can she fight for her people.

So there you have it! I'm super excited for all these books and will probably go and read Queen of Shadows as soon as I finish this post. I did just want to say that I know I read a lot of sic-fi / fantasy and thats not everyones cup of tea, however I do also read contemporaries and will hopefully have some book reviews up of light hearted, more girly books soon!!
