5 Things I'm Looking Forward To In Summer 2016.

Sometimes I think it's very easy to get caught up in the monotony of life. I often find myself, sloping into work at 8:30am on a Monday morning, wishing with all my heart that I could make time move forward eight hours so I could go home again. And then I feel guilty for wishing my life away, because really, I could have it so much worse

But there are definitely some amazing things coming up in summer 2016 and today I wanted to share them with you. Hopefully if you're not inspired to comply your own list of exciting things, then at least you'll have a heads up about some fun blog posts that will be coming your way very soon!

1 - Romeo & Juliet in London

As a self confessed nerd and Shakespeare fangirl, when my mum suggested going to London to see Lily James and Richard Madden (Robb Stark in Game Of Thrones) in Romeo and Juliet, I just about fell of the sofa in excitement. I haven't been to London in so long - okay, like a year - but it's one of my absolute favourite places, and considering I live so close, I really don't know why I don't go more often. We're planning on turning it into a really fun day out: think, spot of shopping, fancy lunch, wander around the city, all followed up by Romeo and Juliet. Of course I'll be bringing you guys along in the form of my trusty DSLR, so you can expect a post about that near the start of June.

2 - Halkidiki

If you're not sure, Halkidiki is a part of Greece popular with those of us who prefer a relaxed, luxuriously drunk-people free holiday. I'm going to be departing rainy England in mid July for a week of sun, sea and cocktails by the pool, and I'm beyond excited.

Just yesterday a very close friend of mine asked if I regretted not going travelling on my gap year, and honestly I can say that I do not. I'm really not the sort of person who enjoys slumming it in a hostel *shudders* or putting up with drunk and delirious friends in 30+ degree heat. Like, don't get me wrong, I'd enjoy the travelling part, I just prefer exploring new places from the comfort of a 5* hotel room. What?! To each her own!

But never fear, our family vacation will definitely be glamorous enough for me to take a few beautiful Instagrams and compile a list of fabulous blog posts. Ahhh just thinking about the sun makes me want to run to Heathrow and jump on a plane already!

3 - Finishing My Job

I'm currently on a weeks holiday off of work (can I get an Amen?!) and I'm already dreading going back. Seriously, it's been four days and I just feel so content at life right now. I have so much time to blog, to go on cute days out with friends, and the best part: I don't have to worry about what the hell is going on in the shambles of a shop that I work in. Ahh retail, you truly are the worst.

HOWEVER as you are probably aware, I'm going to university in September *does happy dance* which means finishing working full time in retail for - hopefully - ever. Okay, so I know that I spend pretty much 90% of my time complaining about my job, but honestly it wouldn't be that bad if I wasn't there every. single. day. I used to just work Saturdays and honestly that was so much better. I had no responsibilities, people didn't look to me when something - inevitably - goes wrong, and to state the obvious: I was only there once a week. So when I'm at uni, I probably will end up getting a job in retail again, but naturally it won't be full time, so how bad can it be! *Nervous laughter*

If you're wondering when I finish my current job, it's either going to be the 13th or the 20th of August. If I said I didn't have a count down clock on my phone then I'd be lying.

4 - Luxury Spa Weekend

Just thinking about this makes me super happy. So the other night my mum had had a couple of glasses of wine (fateful) and we ended up discussing the idea of planning a luxury spa break for her, my sister and me. It's something we've definitely thought about before, but had never gotten around to booking, so when I pulled out my MacBook to show her some websites we decided that the time was nigh. As of right now we haven't booked it, but we've pretty much settled on Chewton Glen in the New Forest. Seriously the spa looks divine, and the tree houses? Sign. me. up!

We won't be going until mid to end august but I'm already super excited, as who doesn't love a glamorous trip to the spa?! It is pretty pricy but... sometimes you've just got to treat yo'self ;)

5 - Northumberland and Edinburgh

So these plans are still currently in the works but right now, my family is planning on making a trip up north to see my Uncle and Auntie who live in Edinburgh. We considered staying in Scotland but then decided it might be more fun if we stayed somewhere 'in the country'. (if you've seen my Lake District posts you'll know my fam loves the countryside!) I haven't been to Edinburgh in years and absolutely love exploring new places, so I'm really looking forward to this. If you live in Northumberland, let me know of some fun things to do, because we've never been before!

  8. It seems like you 'll be having a good time this summer! I 'll also visit Halkidiki every now and then as I am Greek and have a house there. (Just a small correction: Halkidiki is not actually an island, although it seems like one. It 's part of Greece mainland, part of the region of central Macedonia in Northern Greece). If you need any travel advice let me know!
